Hi everyone,
I’d like to share my own hair transplant experience.
I’m a bit lazy when it comes to writing, so I’ll just stick to the main points. Sorry about that. 😄
A little bit about myself: I’m 39 years old. My hair loss has been stable, and I’ve been using finasteride for around 7 years.
Why Prohairclinic?
After doing quite a lot of research, I found around 20 independent patient reports on international forums, mostly on haarweb.nl, from people who had their treatments after December 2025 and ended up with pretty good results.
I was also impressed by Bart’s numerous presentations. The price was reasonable, and the clinic being around 300 km away from me was almost perfect, although distance wasn’t actually one of my criteria when I started looking.
I booked my appointment around the middle of August 2026. The earliest available dates were September 8–9, so I accepted them.
I stayed overnight at a guesthouse around 3–5 minutes away from the clinic. It wasn’t luxurious and could use some renovation, but it was quiet and secluded.
The procedure
The transplant was split over two days.
On the first day, around 1,600 grafts were transplanted, followed by approximately 1,700 grafts on the second day.
The treatment took around 7 hours per day, including breaks.
The procedure was performed using the lateral slit technique with manual extraction. Punch sizes of around 0.7–0.8 mm were used.
In total, 3,300 grafts were distributed over an area of approximately 72 cm².
Fine hairs were not included in the count.
The graft breakdown was:
-
1-hair grafts: 760
-
2-hair grafts: 1,930
-
3-hair grafts: 587
-
4-hair grafts: 23
Average: 1.96 hairs per graft
I also have a few photos from before the surgery and from the clinic. Unfortunately, I look a bit messy in some of them. 😄
