Editorial Policy

Last updated: August 14, 2026

This page explains how Hairloss Authority researches, writes, sources, and maintains the articles published on the Blog. It does not apply to the Forum, where members post their own questions and experiences.

Sourcing standards

Claims about drugs, procedures, and treatment outcomes are checked against public medical sources: FDA drug labeling and device clearance/approval records, peer-reviewed clinical studies, and published guidance from recognized dermatology and hair restoration organizations. We distinguish between FDA-approved and FDA-cleared where that distinction matters, and we avoid presenting a single study, a manufacturer's marketing claim, or an anecdote as settled evidence.

How articles are written and reviewed

Articles are drafted and edited by the Hairloss Authority editorial team, then checked against source material before publishing for factual accuracy, appropriate hedging around uncertain or evolving evidence, and consistency with what we've already published elsewhere on the site. We do not publish individually named "medical reviewer" credentials, because we don't have a credentialed clinician on staff to attribute that review to — we would rather say that plainly than imply a review process we don't actually have. Our About Us page explains this in more detail.

Independence

We are not owned by and do not accept payment from any hair transplant clinic, pharmaceutical company, or hair loss product brand, and no advertiser has editorial input into what we publish or how we compare treatments.

Updates and corrections

Medical evidence changes, so articles are revisited and updated when we become aware of new evidence, a regulatory change (for example an FDA approval or clearance update), or an error. When we make a substantive correction to a published article, the page's "last updated" date reflects that change. If you believe something we've published is inaccurate or out of date, please tell us at info@hairlossauthority.com — we review every report.

Not medical advice

Everything on this site is for general educational purposes only. It is not a diagnosis, a treatment recommendation, or a substitute for care from a licensed physician who can examine you directly.
