I decided on Turkey Hair Transplant this year after seeing a few friends' results. I had consulted with 3 different hair transplant clinics (all through friends' referrals) and decided to go with Dr. Cinik. My decision with Dr. Cinik was based on: 1) my friend's personal transplant result; 2) Dr. Cinik has a whole building that runs 24/7 dedicated to this practice with much higher volume of cases than others; and 3) the support pre, peri and post procedure that you get. I'm a physician myself, so natural I want to have it done by the best doctor. And I really believe Dr. Cinik is one of the top hair tranplant physicians in the world.
The day before the surgery, I was picked up from airport and taken to the arranged hotel by private limo. They WhatApp messaged me to keep me informed of my schedule and what to expect. Next morning I had blood tests and an ECG and met a cardiologist to make sure I was fit for the procedure. They then used a hair analysis device to examine my donor area and showed my pictures along the way. Next, I had a preliminary examination with another physician; she checked my hair and drew the recommended hair line. I wanted it to be lower. She informed me to discuss further with Dr. Cinik next.
Finally, I then had a consultation with Dr. Cinik himself. For someone who has worked with so many professional sports athletes/celebrities, Dr. Cinik treated me with genuine warmth and professionalism. He didn't rush the personal consultation with him. He asked to see old photos of me. I showed him on my phone and asked if the hair line can be extended further. He examined me closely and then redrew the hairline to where I wanted and where he felt was best. Projected I will have 2200-2500 grafts implanted.
I was then taken to the operating room. 3 nurses help get my hair shaved; and then sterilized my scalp, neck and upper chest/back for the procedure. They checked on me frequently. I choose to do local anesthesia only. So I recall the whole event. Aside from the injection of the lidocaine, rest of the procedure was very comfortable. So comfortable that I fell asleep for a good amount (both graft harvesting and hair transplanting). I also elected to have PRP and Exosome injection to help boost my hair regrowth journey. They kept me informed with what they were doing every step.
The operation lasted approximately 4.5 hours; a total of 2730 grafts were implanted. I was very happy that we got more done. I slept that night following the operation easily. The pain was not bad. Dr. Cinik provided acetaminophen and sleeping meds. I only took one acetaminophen. No sleeping pill was needed for me.
The hotel Dr. Cinik arranged was nicely set up. Seeing others with transplant procedure done put me more at ease. For breakfast, there was an area that was more private. I sat there along with other transplanted patients. Ultimately we just liked our privacy.
Dr. Cinik's team picked me up for the 1st hair wash at their clinic. They also provided me with the foam cleanser and shampoos, which were all 100ml or less. So flying with them (without check-in luggages) was easy. Because I had a late night flight and a 23 hours journey home, I asked the clinic if they can arrange another clinic hair wash right before the airport. They are very accommodating and squeezed me in for another wash before their driver took me to the airport.
I am currently Post Op Day 21 since transplant. So far the post Op team has checked on me frequently to make sure my recovery is smooth and answered all my questions. We've been doing picture/video check-in's frequently. Though I am so far from their office, their virtual follow up care makes me feel I'm well cared for with zero gaps. They truly provided an amazing concierge and world class experience. I recommend Dr. Cinik 100%.
